Eden, Harry

Originally a centre. Played in 16-10 grand final loss to Souths in 1971 as a forward and stayed in that position for remainder of his career.
A hard running prop, Eden went on to score 17 tries in 38 matches with Souths between 1974-75.
Eden prided himself on his physical fitness and was playing as recently as 2004 when he took part in a fund-raiser for the ‘St George Dragons Allstars’. Proceeds from the match were donated to the Joanne Mackay Breast Cancer Foundation.
Harry Eden passed away following a battle with cancer in 2006.

Combined Sydney rep vs NZ in 1976.
Regarded as one of the best rakes of the 1970s and 1980s, Steve Edge played in an amazing 11 grade grand finals sides beginning with a third grade premiership with Saints in 1972.
Highly experienced, Edge captained the 1977 Dragons' side, playing in the historic drawn Grand Final and subsequent Grand Final victory the following week.
Also played in Saints' 1979 Grand Final wining side.
Went on to further success with Parramatta, captaining them to three Grand Final wins from 1981 to 1983.

Rep Honours: NZ Junior, New Zealand Schoolboys.
First Grade Debut: 14/4/2007 (round 5) vs Storm at Kogarah (Storm won 24-10).
In 2006, Ben Ellis made a record 1066 tackles while playing for Premier League (NSWRL) side the North Sydney Bears, despite not playing a full compliment of matches. The achievement surpassed NSWRL and NRL records. Canberra's NRL lock Alan Tongue in the same year made 1040 tackles to set the NRL record, overtaking former Melbourne hooker Richard Swain's tackle count of 1004 tackles set in 2001. Ellis made his 1066 tackles in just 22 matches.
In 2007, Ben Ellis made just 14 appearances and regularly topped the tackle count, mostly from the interchange bench.
In 2008, Ben Ellis was selected for New Zealand Maori, playing in the World Cup curtain raiser against The Australian Indigenous Dreamtime team, won 34-26 by the Dreamtime team.

Born in 1976 in Inverell, NSW and played with the Inverell Hawkes as a junior.
Played three games First Grade games with the Roosters (1998-99) before joining Saints in the lower grades.
Represented NSW residents (1st Division) in 1999.
Debuted for Saints First Grade on Saturday 15 March 2003 (v Wests Tigers at Telstra Stadium).

Born 16 Mar 1984, Coffs Harbour, NSW. Debuted in first grade with Newcastle in 2003.
The club's top first grade scorer in 2005, Michael Ennis was granted a release from Saints after just one season, signing with the Broncos soon after.
